Not sure who I want to take yet, probably Nicky. He's one of the more responsible ones in my pack, Rohan is another one I could consider.
Day Still haven't left yet:
Welp, Nicky is sick, I can't find Rohan, and Jolon immediately jumped at the chance. So I guess he's going to be my pal this time around, I think he can handle it, he's way more mature than he lets on. I'm going to take Bolero Del Fuego with me as well since Jolon doesn't like carrying more than myself and the base camping supplies. I think Rikku was very interested in going as well. Fuego seems to really like her and she's Jolon's sibling, I think it might be good for her, she hasn't been out of the village much.
Uhg, I'm not feeling to great either. Full moon was two nights ago and I'm still woozy and sore from it. I've got to go though, made a promise to ma.
Episode 1
Day 1
We left a little later than I would have liked. I should have known better knowing Jolon and Rikku. They have such a short attention span, it's honestly amazing we left today in general.
Hearing Rikku babble nonstop to Fuego make me grin to no end, the fondness they have for each other is just so warming, I wonder if I should request a breeding for the two of them... Something to talk to Ma about when I get home.
Jolon wanted to run the whole way, but I needed to keep reminding him that it's a long way and very rocky, so it's safer to only run in short bursts. It also conserves energy of course. I think there's a long stretch of road we can run along coming up, we can run the rest of the way on that -or next to it because Jolon avoids concrete for some reason-.
We made it to the base camp in once piece, we were immediately approached by a cute woman with a clipboard. She wanted to know which team we wanted to be assigned to. As soon as the word 'Science" Left her mouth I was sold. I'm such a sucker for science, even if I have a hard time understanding it sometimes, but I don't mind collecting things in the name of science. I was introduced to my team leader shortly after signing my name on a few pieces of paper, Professor Mitchell, is... an interesting man, he reminds me of younger sister, very passionate about what he's talking about and not afraid to get his hands dirty. I don't think Jolon likes him very much, which surprises me to no end, Jolon likes everyone. It's odd. Mitchell's little Toki Percy is just a delight though, he's a sweet boy and seems to have taken a shine to Jolon.
I met Chief Thunderfeather and her partner, Rainwater was well. She's a very wise woman, demands respect by her posture alone, I almost feel bad about joining Mitchell's group just by the piercing look she shot me. Rainwater doesn't seem to talk much, either that or she couldn't fathom the fact that I could actually understand her. That happens a lot though, so I'm used to it.
Day 2
Nothing much to speak on for this day, met a woman named Embla and her Tokota Helya. Jolon tried to make friends with Helya, but the girl is fierce, beat him down almost immediately, lives up to her name if I do say so myself. Also saw Ashton and his Giant girl, Pit, around as well. Pretty sure I saw Ashton with some science equipment, so I might see him around if he's on Mitchell's team as well.
I feel on edge, like something bad is going to happen, but I can't put my finger on it. Fuego agreed with me, we should get ready...for whatever it is.
Day 3
An avalanche. Well, my anxiety from yesterday certainly made sense.
Fuego is missing. Jolon's Knee was messed up, and Rikku had large wooden shrapnel in her side when Jolon found her, but the medic told me she would be okay, if not sore for a few days. Now we just need to find Fuego. I plan on turning into my feral form to help with the search, my nose could help a lot I think. I told Jolon to stay behind, pretty sure I'm going to get hell for that. Rikku snuck out and ripped her stitches apart, damn it I wish she would listen better.
Update: We found him, thank Aippaq. He was under a fallen tree and unconscious, but he was breathing. The medic said he would be okay. He and Rikku are resting in the medic tent.
Day 5
I caught a glance of something while looking for samples in the trees, I also found patches of pale blue fur. Whatever is out here is fascinated enough about us being around that it's stalking in and out of the area, but still skittish enough to stay out of view. I keep thinking I see things out of the corner of my eye.
Update: I was sent out as a scout last night and something was following us. I'm not sure if it's because I'm more jumpy at night or if it was because Jolon was much more somber than normal, but something made the fur along my back raise in anxiety.
Day 8
Lilac points, Very interesting. "Ghost paw" Is a beautiful girl. Very friendly too. I had taken Percy and Jolon out to see if we could make contact with her. Percy found her pretty quickly... oddly enough. She had a hell of a pair of teeth on her. Jolon seemed to like her, and was very disappointed that she ran away. Thankfully i was able to snap a picture of her for the TCA.... I don't have much of an eye for photography so hopefully someone else was able to get a better picture of her.
Mitchell lost his damn mind when I showed him the photo, I'm starting to think Jolon's -albiet rude- nickname of the man is starting to fit. I don't think Thunderfeather knows how to feel about her being sighted....
Day 10
Rikku and Fuego were able to join me on my assignment today, they're healed enough to do light work. I was on the cleanup team today. A passage behind the snow is being revealed I think, and there's... warm? Air seeping through. There's something behind this mountain of rubble and snow. I'll let everyone know of my thoughts.
Episode 2
Day 13
Holy shit. Just... wow, this place is so beautiful. And untamed. and just... Wow. I don't even mind Mitchell's endless ranting.... Just.... Wow.
Rikku was quickly over the view and proceeded to slide down the slope leading into the forest below.
Day 14
Was assigned to clean-up duty today, some dumb assholes left a bunch of fires burning in the other camp and trash fucking everywhere, what the actual fuck.
When we got back a little later I was asked to help map out the area by Mitchell. Holy shit I didn't think my map making skills would actually be utilized. I jumped at the chance, hooked Jolon and Fuego up to the climbing gear and went to go scout. Jolon was of corse eager to keep exploring, he's not a fan of watching me draw maps. Fuego remembered my colored pens thankfully.
Rikku really likes sliding down the steep mountains, I really wish she would be careful, makes me feel a tiny bit better when I see Fuego slide down next to her.
Day 15
While Jolon and I were out scouting again we came across bones covered in large gouges and scratches all over them... Whatever made these markings were gigantic. I took them back to Mitchell and Thunderfeather and they seemed to agree, they wanted me to keep an eye out for more bones.
Jolon cracks me up to no end. The fuzzy doofus tripped and fell off of a four inch ledge. There's been a few moments where I feel I should have taken the time to find Rohan and take him with me instead of Jolon, but moments like this make the distractions so very worth it.
Day 22
It's getting close to the full moon, less than two weeks and I don't see an end to this expedition anytime soon... Hope I can get away that night so i don't hurt anyone.
I was asked to go back down to the original campgrounds to check out another wild that showed his face, Rainwater followed me today, wasn't really sure why, but I appreciated the calm company. She still hasn't said much, but she didn't blink an eye at my transformation. Jolon found the wild boy not to far away from where Rainwater and I were scouting. He has the most peculiar teeth, they reminded me of something. -enough of being facetious, he had Worg teeth like myself, it was damn amusing to see on a Tokota, that's for sure-
(Note to self: Not sure Rainwater enjoys being touched.)
Day 25
Been very busy looking for these bones. And Aippaq damn, if this hasn't been one hell of a pay off. Prehistoric animals, still alive. I just--- It's incredible. I have a feeling we're going to have to deal with some assholes caging some of these creatures or something.
Fuego and Jolon chased one down with Pitsirark, a mammoth. Holy crap was it huge. Those ivory tusks were gorgeous. This is incredibly dangerous though, Pit returned with a broken leg. I'm glad my boys are safe, but I need to equip them better if this is going to continue.
Day 26
Normally I like it when I'm right. But right now, I hate that I'm right. There were some dicks caging babies. Now we need to deal with angry mothers... The expedition group has been given permission to hunt these beasts, I guess the amount of babies we've found is concerning? I don't know, population control isn't really my thing.
... So this doesn't surprise me: I just got word that Jolon, Rikku, and a curly named Majo were riding on top of a young mammoth. Jolon talks other Tokota into the oddest things.
Day 27
Today I stayed at base camp because Rikku was hurt during the stunt she was involved with yesterday with a young mammoth. It's nice to get to know her a bit better, she tends to be way to high energy to sit down with. Jolon and Fuego told me that they saved a male named Bolvar from a Smilodon while they were out scouting this morning. I believe them because Jolon's mouth, chin, and chest is covered in blood, very odd for him unless he comes across another getting hurt... Fun because I have to bathe and brush him down, lest he starts to smell like a corpse. The downside to yeti Tokota: all that disgusting shit gets matted into their fur... uhg.
Day 28Full Moon is tonight. I barely want to move, let alone do anything productive. I think I'll just hang out with Rikku in the medic tent.... I'm gonna take a nap before I head away from the camp site. Don't want to hurt anyone.
Better get going....
Episode 3
Day 31
Fuck, fuck, fuck. Fuck. Fuck. Fuck this. Fuck this shit. Everything is scattered, and I think some people are possibly dead or missing.
Okay, after calming down a smidgen... it's even worse than I thought. Fist; what the FUCK were those things? Second; where the fuck is Mitchell? All I can smell is whatever those two beasts were and fire. Thunderfeather quickly took control and sent my team out to find any sign of the professor. It's nearly midday and I had to send Rikku and Fuego back to the camp, her wound got irritated and split open again. I'm taking a break right now to wright this and get Jolon to eat something. He's very upset.
Day 32
We've gotten tiny.... clues is all I can think to call them, of the professor, Jolon and I have been finding little bits and pieces of his journal entries. They led us to a field of steam geysers...fun.
There's a rumor going around the people who have seen the creatures out of the shadows, they say that they're the prehistoric ancestor of Tokota... One thing I do know about them though: They're fucking gigantic. Especially if these bits of fur I find on the branches are anything to go by.
Day 33
Thunderfeather sent a team out back to the Tortok site to look for another wild that's been spotted. I decided to take Rikku with me, he leg is healed enough that she can comfortably carry me and not have to worry about her wound popping open again. Rainwater decided to join me for this again.
The wild has... an interesting hair-do. She's a pretty girl though... Even as she marched straight up to Rikku and gave her the stare down. Rikku refuses to tell me what she did to make her angry.
Day 34
Akota. Got word from the TCA that they are indeed the prehistoric ancestor of our ride-able companions today. Interesting. Wish I could be lucky enough to see one... wonder if they can smell the wolf and that's why they're staying away. Whatever the reason, I'm just glad I don't have to worry about Jolon's safety when we're out looking for the Professor.
Epilogue
Day 35
We found him. We found the idiot, he was choosing to remain hidden. Jolon was right, this guy is crazy.... oh.... but oh my god the Akota puppies are just to cute, even if they are the size of my sister.
Time to go home then. This was... quite the experience. Saying that severely underestimates the entire month, but that's the only word I have for it. Was it worth it? Yeah, yeah it was, I could have done without Rikku being injured, but overall, yeah it was worth it.... I wonder what kind of hoops I would need to jump though to get some puppies out of WF85, those points are gorgeous.
End
Thank you for reading!
Sorry for any missing images, I ran out of time to fill some of the gaps, but I hope Oki's quick explanations did the trick ;u;
This summer event was a whole heap of fun, and I hope any other large event like this is even more kick-ass
